Meet Your Photographer

Hey friend!

I’m Andy.

After more than a decade following my passion of outdoor and adventure photography, I now share that experience with couples who are more comfortable romping in the forest with each other than entertaining loose acquaintances you barely know in a venue that costs too much.

A Few Quick Facts:

  1. I’m a dad of two adorable girls.

  2. My wife, our dog Pickle, and I lived on the road full-time from 2014-2019.

  3. I live in Asheville, but was born in Wisconsin.

  4. I love climbing! Getting outside and climbing on real rock is hands-down my favorite outdoor activity. It’s a major reason my wife and I moved to Asheville to begin with!

  5. I love a good oat-mashed, pillowy New England Style IPA. (Like what Burial produces weekly here in Asheville.)

  6. I really love/need a good cup of coffee first thing in the morning.

What Adventure Elopement Photography Looks Like

MountainWed captures the real emotions, tells the story, and shares the beauty of the place you chose to be on your wedding day.

I want you to have an awesome wedding day that is 100% you. I want you to have fun, stay relaxed, and soak up every moment as you explore the mountains, waterfalls, and forests of North Carolina and beyond.

When I work with you, I bring years of outdoor adventure photography experience along with me. I’m here to creatively document you and your partner in a way that feels vibrant and fun. Sometimes this means taking a blurry photo. Sometimes it’s a photo with hard, direct flash. Or, it’s a black and white photo. Or it’s on film.

Let me celebrate you by documenting your love story with a sense of artistic passion and an experimental mindset.

A Few Things About Me

  • I love climbing.

I started climbing at age 15 and have enjoyed it every day since. It’s taken me to France, Spain, Canada and all around the US. The history, the culture, and the feelings of accomplishment it gives me I haven’t found any other place.

  • I like making sourdough bread.

Homemade bread is game-changer. I started exploring sourdough bread while we were living with friends out in Tacoma, Washington while we waited for our house build to finish. It was 2019 and a bad experience with expensive, store-bought bread made we want to create something healthier, tastier, and cheaper than what I was paying for in restaurants and grocery stores.

  • Double-IPAs (DIPAs)

I feel so lucky that we have such a strong beer scene here in Asheville. In particular, I love the options available for fresh, rotating, resinous beers like the fantastic stuff Burial Beer Co. puts out there. If you haven’t been, this is a must-see if you visit the area.

  • My background is in adventure photography.

Before I found adventure elopement photography as a passion, I was focused on taking epic shots of adventurous humans doing what they love. I’ve had images featured in publications like Climbing Magazine and by outdoor brands in climbing and running like Black Diamond Equipment and Fleet Feet.
