The couples I work with usually care just as much about what the day feels like as what it looks like. That’s where I start too.
You want time together.
Maybe it’s just the two of you, maybe your favorite people are there too. Either way, you want enough room in the day to hang out, eat something good, wander around, and actually remember being there.
You want the mountains to be part of it.
A trail, a waterfall, a cabin, an overlook, or a whole second day outside. There are a lot of ways to work the mountains into a wedding. My location guide is a good place to start looking.
You want the photos to come from the experience.
I’ll give you direction when it helps, then let things happen. I photograph the big views and the small stuff in between, mixing digital with film photography along the way.
Where I Work
I know these mountains pretty well. That comes in handy.
I’m based in Asheville, but most of the wedding days I photograph happen out in the mountains around it — Pisgah, DuPont, Linville Gorge, the Blue Ridge Parkway, cabins, small venues, and mountain towns all over Western North Carolina.
If you’re planning from out of state, you don’t need to know which overlook has decent parking, where the sun disappears behind a ridge, or how long a mountain road actually takes to drive. That’s the kind of stuff I can help with. Tell me what you want the day to feel like and I’ll help narrow down what makes sense.

Do you photograph elopements outside Asheville?
Yep. I’m based in Asheville, but most of my work actually happens in the mountains around it. I photograph elopements, small weddings, and vow renewals throughout Western North Carolina and beyond.
How far in advance should we reach out?
As soon as you have a date or even a rough season in mind. Some couples book a year out and others reach out much closer to the date. Weekdays usually give us more flexibility at popular mountain locations. You can get a general sense of coverage on the pricing page.
Can you help us figure out locations and timing?
Absolutely. I can help sort through locations, drive time, hiking, light, privacy, permits, weather, backup options, and how everything fits together without making the day feel packed. My Asheville + WNC elopement location guide is a good place to start exploring.
Do we need to have everything planned before contacting you?
Not at all. “We want mountains, maybe a cabin, a few people we love, and some time outside together” is already enough to work with. Tell me what you know and we can figure out the rest from there.
