About

Hi, I’m Andy Wickstrom.

After living and working as a graphic designer in Chicago for more than a decade, my wife and I spent five years living on the road and exploring the country in a small travel trailer. Photography became a way to document where we were, but more than that—it became how we connected, shared stories, and found meaning in the landscapes and people we encountered along the way.

A couple years in, a friend asked if I’d photograph their elopement on a glacier near Squamish, BC. I said yes without hesitation. We flew in at sunrise, landed for a brief 45 minutes, and I watched two people exchange vows in one of the most unreal places I’d ever seen. No script, no timeline—just something real and deeply personal. They spent the rest of the day rock climbing.

That moment stuck with me. I realized there are couples who don’t want the traditional thing—who want their wedding to feel like them. That’s the kind of work I’ve been doing ever since. Helping people mark this moment in a way that’s rooted in place, grounded in meaning, and a little wild.

After a little more than a decade in Chicago, we intentionally took a different route—spending five years on the road, chasing climbing days whenever we could, and running our Kickstarter-funded non-profit project, DesignEgg, where we helped artists and nonprofits with design and visual support they couldn’t otherwise afford.

That’s still my default setting: outside as much as possible, deep passion for unique light, locations, and people.

I’m always down for the plan that feels a little off-script (in the best way).

At home, my wife and I have two little girls—Bergen and Holland—and Bergen drew the tiny film camera on this page. Film nerd, electric guitar guy, coffee snob… oh and heck yes I’ll drink gas-station coffee and (at least taste) that cream-filled donut in the display.

Follow that crazy spark of an idea for your wedding day.

Follow that wild spark of an idea for your wedding day—the one that feels a little outside the lines (for you). The “should we really do this?” idea. The dope, atypical, hell-yes version.

If I’m joining you on your biggest day, I want your focus to be on having fun, feeling confident, and staying relaxed so you can just be in the moment.

Things I never leave at home: a creative eye for outdoor adventure photography, a solid plan, and the kind of friendly, easygoing energy that keeps the whole thing feeling fun—not forced. So let’s chase the best views, take a few creative chances, and document the fleeting, unforgettable chapters of your day.

Let your hair down (or pack a few extra clips if it’s windy), grab those broken-in boots, bring your celebratory drink of choice, and let the emotion show up exactly as it does. Sound like a good time or what?
